Melting Glaciers of The Alps

In 2022, glaciers across the Alps experienced the worst rate of melting ice since records began. These slow-moving rivers of ice are also massive reservoirs of water and an integral part of the Alpine ecosystem. Photographing through my late grandmother's binoculars, I began documenting this tragic loss of Switzerland's glacial ice in the Bernese Alps, a region which I have been visiting since childhood. This technique links the perspectives of generations across time, a metaphor for one family bearing witness to the disappearing glaciers, a loss due to climate change which affects us all.
