In the heart of Port-au-Prince, boys carry guns instead of schoolbooks. Since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in 2021, Haiti has unraveled into a state of siege—its capital ruled by gangs, its future held hostage. Over 1.6 million children now live in gang-controlled areas, where hunger, fear, and violence define daily life. This series bears witness to a generation lost to brutality and neglect, where children are both victims and perpetrators. Through intimate portraits, it captures a nation in collapse and the quiet tragedy of youth stolen before it ever had a chance to begin.
