“The Silence of the Blackbirds” documents the struggles of Kosovo’s last remaining Serbs, now less than 5% of the population. Isolated in enclaves or the Serb-majority north, they face economic hardship, restricted movement, and political tensions. Through intimate portraits and daily life scenes, this project explores their resilience, deep cultural ties, and uncertain future as migration continues. At a time when their presence is diminishing, this work provides a rare, human-centered look at a community fighting to preserve its identity amid historical and geopolitical shifts.
