They have been isolated from their children, been accused of everything from incest to drug abuse. Some have been beaten, shouted at and degraded to such an extent that they have lost faith in themselves.

According to research made by the National Institute of Public Health in Denmark 57.000 Danes are every year exposed to physical domestic violence. Every third of them is a man.

Many men carry a fear of not being believed in by their communities. As a consequense they choose to isolate themselves. “A real man does not need help”, the men say. But what does it mean to be a real man?
