The Silent Clapping Of Their Hands

Claudio Madia, 60 years old, was a TV presenter in Italy during the 1990s of one of the most famous children’s programs of the time: L’Albero Azzurro. Shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic he had decided to turn his house into a circus (the Circincà), which was later closed due to the lockdown. To be able to support himself, he consequently decided to build another circus outdoor, in the center of Milan, one of the cities most affected by the virus in the world. This is a story of resilience by one of the many artists who saw themselves deprived of their art during 2020.

Davide was born in Messina in 1991. He is a photojournalist based in Milan.

He graduated in 2016 at IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) at the school of visual arts in photography.
