The skies above contain all manner of mysteries. One of these wonderful mysteries is the heavenly Mammatus cloud. A rarity as cloud formations go, it is an amazing sight to behold, and something never to be forgotten.
Michael Norton is a fine art and commercial photographer currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Born in Melbourne in 1976, creative urges and the outdoors have been an ongoing theme throughout Michael's life. With numerous childhood trips to the Australian bush or coast with family, he has always been strongly drawn to the natural world. However, it wasn't until his early 20's that Michael first picked up an SLR and started to fuse his love of travel and the outdoors with his creative side. For Michael, photography is all about discovering and capturing the sometimes hidden or unexpected beauty of nature. His passion for photography and desire to explore the natural world has led him around the globe to pristine and remote locations like Antelope Canyon, the Daintree Rainforest, the Cook Islands, Death Valley, Patagonia, the Galapagos Islands, Wilsons Promontory and the Atacama Desert. Michael's style of photography ranges from the more traditional large-scale views of the landscape to more simple and abstract compositions which highlight the inherent beauty of nature. Michael continually strives to create new compositions and interpretations of the landscape that typically haven't been seen before in this genre of photography. www.michaelnorton.com.au
