Ancestors

Ancestors - Family Portraits. In times of patchwork family relations we create new forms of social relations. Still there is a strong desire to create some kind of informal family tree, to give everyone a place in our social environment . By adding aristocratic elements ( Background, Hair, Setting…) to the portrayed persons i create a connection between myself and all the people in my life, as well as give them a relation between each others, making them my gallery of ancestors. 2012 work in progress.

born 1964 in Frankfurt/Main, Graduation from high school in 1983, Graduation „Lette-School of Photography“ Berlin 1987, Freelance photographer since then, Since 2005 Curator at the „Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie“. Exihibition : „Believers“ at the Selecion Atlantico, Photonoviembre 2011 „Supermodels“ at the Palm Spring Photofestival 2012 and Rencontre Arles 2012 „Blackwood“ at the Noorderlicht Festival 2012
