Shinta Ratri is a transgender and an LGBT activist. She is the director of a Koranic school for Muslim transgender and transexual people in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the country with largest Muslim population in the world. She opened up this center to give the students self confidence. This is a meeting point for anyone who wants to pray without incurring in gender discrimination. "Everyone has the right to observe their religion in their own way. Being a transgender is not a sin" says Shinta. She wants to be an example for all. She is proud to be a woman and a Muslim.
Fulvio Bugani is a freelance professional photographer with more then 15 year of experience. Born in 1974, he started working as a photographer in 1995. After a close collaboration with major photo studios of Bologna, he founded his own studio in 1999 – Foto Image. He actively collaborates with many associations and NGOs such as MSF (Medecins Sans Frontier) and Amnesty International. He teaches photography in his own private photographic school in Bologna, as well as in seminars an workshops.
