LEVELS OF EXPERTISE
Q: Who is considered a professional photographer?

A: Px3 considers "professional photographers" those who earn, or have earned, the majority of their incomes from taking photographs, publish or sell their images regularly, and belong to professional photography organizations.

Q: I earned money from my photography. Can I still enter as a non-professional or student?
A: Px3 defines "professional" as having earned the majority of your income from photography. If photography is not your primary source of income, you may be considered "non-professional."

Q: I was a student when I took this photograph, but I'm now a professional. Can I still enter as a student?
A: If you are currently making your living as a photographer, we require that you enter all work in the Professional category.

Q: How old do I have to be to enter?
A: The competition is open to photographers of all ages, but individuals under the age of 18 must first obtain the permission of their parent or legal guardian before submitting work. If you are under the age of 18, you are automatically eligible to submit your work in the Student category.

DATES AND DEADLINES
Q: When is the deadline?
A: Currently, there are no open competitions. The 2012 competition cycle will open on January 1, 2012.

A: No, entries that have won previous Px3 awards are not eligible for competition in ensuing years.

A: Though we do encourage all photographers to submit new, previously unseen work, we have no restrictions on entering work that has won awards in other competitions.

Q: How much does it cost to enter?

A: If your entry has been made an Official Selection, it means that it has made it through to the final round of jurying. During the final round of jurying, jurors can assign bronze, silver, and gold medals, as well as Honorable Mentions. Being designated an Official Selection does not guarantee you an award in the Px3 competition, but it does mean that it is eligible.
